10/30 ish Action - Hero’s rest

[Sora might have felt some eyes on him for awhile. Vanitas has been keeping his distance but also keeping an eye on the keyblade hero since he arrived. It was hard not to notice Sora's presence truly. It stirs something deep inside him.

Though he half expected Sora to vanish again. People seem to come and go all the time from this place so getting attached is really a waste of time. But its been a couple weeks now so it seems like he might be here for a while after all.

Keeping his distance, Vanitas watches Sora from the shades. He's not really hiding or trying to keep himself totally unseen but watching the other boy is fairly amusing...and annoying at times. Of course Sora already is befriending Roxas' crew. That's not surprising.

Honestly....he smiles too much.]

[Meanwhile, Sora is doing his best to help Roxas out. After arriving in this place... It's been a whirlwind. Not only did he learn that he used to be in this world and he can't remember that, he learned that Roxas and Ventus were here too. He's been able to connect with Roxas about his crew and island and he's been able to spend a little time with Ventus too.

... But there's one more presence here that he can sort of detect. It's hard to place entirely. Like an itch at the back of his neck?

Sora's out in the woods one day, looking for places that might work to be cleared out next. This whole island is kind of a mess and there's a lot of work to do.]

Huh? ... [There's that itchy feeling again-] Is someone there?

[It really is something to have him around. Truth be told, Vanitas hasn't had to deal too much with Sora. Their interactions were brief back in their world up to when he was pushing Vanitas to be on their side and not with darkness.

At one thing still sticks with Vanitas but its not too surprising given how friendly Sora is. All this friendship garbage is really going to make him gag.

Still, he keeps his distance, watching. Standing on a tree branch behind and above him, Vanitas' shadow shifts as sharp red eyes appear and take shape. A Flood darts out from the shadow, down the tree and into a bush next to Sora.

It's ready to pounce and lash out should he try to peek into the bush]

Huh?!

[The little red-eyed creature that darts out of nowhere startles Sora enough that he hops on the spot. His fingers twitch like it's an old habit. But he doesn't quite get a good enough look before it's hidden in the bush.]

A heartless? No way, those things aren't around here and it's been weeks already.

[Sora makes a serious face and peers closer at the bush.]

Hey! What's in there?

[brokendarkness]

[The bush rustles more like its trying to get Sora to come closer almost like a cat toy. Its as Sora peers closer that the bush seems to go still.


Then there's a streak of dark blue as the Flood jumps and lashes out at Sora with it's claws. If Sora isn't fast he's going to get hit and the creature will sink flat like a shadow on the ground and dart away again.]

[It's probably a little late in the evening when Ventus reaches out to Sora. Hopefully Sora wasn't sleeping!]

Sora? You there?

[oathkeeper]

[Luckily, Sora isn't sleeping just yet.]

Ven...! Yeah! Hi, I'm here.

[Somehow Sora might know what Ventus is poking him for. Can he feel it...?]

I know it's late, but...

[A brief pause.]

I think...Vanitas is gone.

[oathkeeper]

[Right on the nose. He knew it. More than likely because he could feel something different, too.]

I think he is, yeah.

[He frowns a little.]

Are you feeling okay?

[brokenlight]

I'm not sure.

[Ventus and Vanitas have never been close. Never got that opportunity. Every time they spoke, it's turned into an argument somehow with neither side willing to give into the other.

But he's felt his darkness here. still had that connection. To have it suddenly disappear like it has...]

It feels weird.

[From somewhere in the Hero's Rest villa, Sora will hear this:]

[Way to startle Sora right out of his nap so hard he falls off his bed and slams hard onto the bare wooden floor?!]

Huh?! What the heck!?

[He jumps to his feet and kicks his door open.]

Who's dying?!

[Somewhere off in the distance, Beat shouts back.]

We good, yo! We good! Ain't no one dead.

[Just his shame, no biggie.]

[... Sora stares...]

You and Futaba better not be doing anything weird!!

[ A surprise gift is certain to keep Sora in place for a bit. A small laugh. ]

Huh? Something for me? Okay! I'll stay here!

[A gift?? Well, now Sora's excited.]
